2019 Chicagoland Golf Fundraiser Review - Over $45,000 Raised for Kids Chance of Illinois!

How it began:
In October 2018 several insurance industry professionals including employers, third party claims administrators, managed care companies and law firms met to form a committee and begin planning for the an inaugural golf fundraiser in the Chicagoland area to benefit Kids Chance of Illinois.  The thought was that the Chicagoland area is rich in organizations and people that would understand the mission of Kids Chance and that the event could be very successful.  The committee set a goal of $50,000 and quickly committed to having the event at Bolingbrook Golf Club in the western suburbs of Chicago.  Golfer registration opened in February to foursomes and twosomes to sign up and 112 golfers played in the outing; a great turnout for our inaugural year. The event was held on October 7th, 2019.

The committee immediately began reaching out to possible sponsors of the event through direct contact and social media and were very fortunate to get significant commitments for several sponsors which included the following:
 
Platinum sponsors with a contribution of $5,000 each included Employers Insurance, Lewis Brisbois and Sedgwick Claims Management Services. 

Gold sponsors with a contribution of $2,500 each included Brady, Connolly & Masuda, P.C., United Parcel Service (UPS), Gallagher Bassett TPA and Hennessy & Roach Law. 
 
Other large sponsors included Cart sponsor –  Evans & Dixon, LLC, Lunch sponsor – Exam Works, Shirt sponsors – Covent Bridge and Optum, Drinks Sponsor – Two Brothers Artisan Brewing, and Photo and Hole Sponsor – Go2Soutions.

We would like to thank Bolingbrook Golf Club and staff for their fine facilities and service during the outing; it was a beautiful day at an amazing course!
 
Dinner and Testimonials from Kids Chance Scholarship Recipients:
The golf outing was followed by a cocktail reception and dinner that was attended by over 150 attendees and included a silent auction and live testimonials from Kids Chance scholarship recipients.  The messages from the recipients were very moving, reminded everyone what the real purpose of the event and motivated many to want to work even harder to have a more successful event in 2020!
 
Final Proceeds to Kids Chance of Illinois:
The collaborative effort ultimately raised $45,039.12 thanks to our large sponsors, golf foursomes and twosomes, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and other generous donations. These proceeds will help fund at least eighteen semester scholarships through Kids Chance of Illinois! We are currently supporting 45 semester scholarships a year with the need continually growing as more applicants learn about us and are identified and qualified. Thank you to all that participated in the inaugural Chicagoland Golf Fundraiser and we look forward to seeing you in 2020 for another successful outing.   We truly appreciate your involvement and support!
